An impostor and crew-mate fall in love and adopt an orphaned child.
For these characters, the act of being an impostor is when the individual is infected with a type of body alternating virus that can only be transmitted through blood. Omar is infected but the process is rather slow.
Musad loves children. They’ve always wanted a child of their own at some point but the virus made it seem like they’d never be able to have them. That is until they kill a crew-mate and find the remaining child. Tomi is scared at first but eventually comes around to love Musad as his Mama.
Funny enough, as time goes on Tomi and Omar do more killing for Musad than Musad does themselves. Their goal is to make it to one of the inhabited planets and live in peace together as family. Who knows if they ever get to have that happy ending.
